CNC Setup Machinist / Team Lead – Aerospace Machining
Position Summary
We’re seeking an experienced CNC Setup Machinist / Team Lead to oversee setup and production of precision aerospace components. This is a key first-shift position for a self-starter who takes pride in their craft, thrives in a team environment, and can lead by example on the shop floor.
Schedule
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, first shift, with rotating Saturday schedule as needed.
Expected hours: 49–55 per week

Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills for high-precision parts
- Install and adjust fixtures, tooling, and attachments for each job
- Retrieve, edit, and input CNC programs (G-code, Mazatrol, or similar)
- Troubleshoot and adjust offsets, speeds, and feeds to maintain quality and efficiency
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.)
- Interpret blueprints, work orders, and GD&T requirements
- Lead and train junior machinists, ensuring consistency and safety across operations
- Maintain clean, organized workstations and uphold all safety and quality standards
Qualifications
- 3+ years of CNC setup and operation experience (mills and/or lathes)
- Strong understanding of G-Code and machine controls
- Familiarity with Mazatrol a plus
- Proven ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Leadership experience or desire to mentor others
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Knowledge of various materials (aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, etc.)
